Center for Training & Development Offers CDL Class Complying with New Federal Regulations

The 皇家华人 Center for Training & Development is offering a CDL course (Commercial Driver’s License) that complies with all recent changes to the federal training requirements. Beginning February 7, prospective drivers who wish to obtain a CDL will be required to complete Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) from a provider listed on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Training Provider Registry.

Additionally, those who currently have a CDL but want to upgrade to a new class or add specific endorsements – such as school bus, passenger and/or hazardous materials – will also be required to take the training, which must be completed with a registered training provider.

These ELDT requirements are implemented by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration as part of the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21), a federal act which was first signed into law in 2012 and was most recently updated in 2016. The EDLT rule establishes minimum requirements for entry-level driver training standards for training providers and CDL applicants.

This training is not retroactive. If you receive a Commercial Learners Permit (CLP) or received a CDL prior to February 7, 2022, these Federal training requirements will not apply.

皇家华人 provides in-person training to individuals applying for their Class A or Class B license, as well as school bus, passenger, and hazardous materials endorsements. The curriculum-based, self-paced and hands-on approach to CDL training provides students with the knowledge and skill set needed to become a successful professional truck driver. Training methods include online instruction, in-depth classroom instruction, various hours and safety training on a Mobile Simulator, and behind-the-wheel training.
