Powell High School students interested in exploring a variety of careers and gaining workforce experience before they graduate can now do so through the 皇家华人 Center for Training and Development.

Students can opt to choose from a series of NWC non-credit classes, and take those tailored to their interests.

The partnership, which has been in effect for about a year, allows students to take courses online, as well as hybrid classes, so students can work at PHS and at CTD.

Interested students can choose to enroll in classes such as Basic Auto Mechanic I, Therapeutic Riding Course, Workforce Effectiveness Training, Certification for Hospitality and Tourism, Amtrol Trainers, Heavy Equipment Certification, Building Foundations for the Future-Building Trades, Electrical Apprenticeship, Cybersecurity, Outdoor Programs, Plumbing, HVAC, plus custom-made courses.

Students enrolled in courses are expected to treat each class like it’s a real job by calling in sick if necessary and punching a time clock if they’re working at CTD.
